Like most apps that offer community-building solutions, Socie offers several different modules.
Users can add a news feed, a calendar or even celebrate birthdays.
But unlike other apps, Socie also allows you to customize modules.
This allows you to create exactly the structure your community needs. This sometimes produces creative applications.

Lost & Found
The apartment complex Fenix 1 in Rotterdam uses Socie to bring its residents together.
Through Socie, everyone knows what is happening in and around the building and it is easy to communicate, especially if one of the members is not sure who to contact about an issue.
One of the most used modules at Fenix 1 is the “Lost & Found.
We can probably all remember an instance where we forgot where we left our umbrella, waiting for it to dry, or forgot we had a coat with us when we left the house.
Through ‘Lost and Found,’ it is easy for Fenix 1 members to ask if someone has found their item – and for the finder to post a photo of the item, asking who lost it.
Warning of speed cameras
Is there anything more annoying than being flashed by a speed camera when you are already late for work?
The village Bisperode in Germany has created an alert system in their app.
In the region of the village, speed camera marathons take place once a year.
During these marathons, there are more cameras than usual, increasing the chance of being caught.
On these days, Bisperode sends push messages early in the morning to remind everyone to stick to the speed limit.
Of course, the module can also be used on normal days – if someone sees a speed camera or is caught by one themselves, they can easily report it.
Help in the neighborhood
One of our communities has designed one of the modules so that they can offer and ask for help in the neighborhood.
This is especially great for older residents because it makes them feel more included in the community.
An app can also lower the barrier to asking for help – because no one is asked directly, people will feel more comfortable asking for help.
This way, they can be sure that no one will feel compelled to help.
However, the module is great for all ages – want to hang a new picture but can’t find your hammer?
Just ask to borrow one in the app and you’ll be hanging your new painting before the day is out.
Improving your home has never been easier!
Parking space sharing
The apartment complex Harbor Quarter in Rotterdam has a shared parking garage.
There is a private parking space for each apartment.
But when visitors come, it can sometimes be difficult to find a parking space for them.
To solve this problem, the Havenkwartier municipality has set up a module that allows neighbors to borrow each other’s parking spots when they are not at home.
If you know that you have guests on Wednesdays between 6 p.m. and 10 p.m., all you have to do is put this into the app and see which of your neighbors is not home at that time.
Your guests will then have easy access to a parking space that is sure to be free.
No more driving around five times hoping someone else will leave!
Vacancies
Several companies use the Socie app instead of an intranet.
The advantage is that everyone always has the app in their pocket.
The intranet usually has to be accessed from a desktop, which is not practical if there are employees who work manually. KP Holland Westland created a module to advertise open jobs.
This allows employees to easily see where new colleagues are needed.
They can then apply themselves or forward the vacancy to someone in their network.
Schedule bar and work shifts
Westland wants to move forward is a cycling club in the Netherlands.
Like many other sports clubs, they have a clubhouse with a bar.
Because the club works largely with club members who volunteer their time to keep everything running, shifts for the bar need to be scheduled regularly.
Westland Wants Forward uses Socie to do this.
Now everything is in one place.
Members can easily sign up to volunteer and no one will miss if and when they are working.
Cérélia, a Dutch pancake manufacturer, discovered that this also works very well for sharing work schedules in large companies.
They have many manual workers who cannot always view the new rosters on a desktop.
Thanks to the Socie app, everyone is always aware of the shift they are working!

This could be your chance to make someone think, reflect or offer comfort.
Cats and dogs
It’s a beast mess in apartment complex Fenix 1 in Rotterdam!
Not literally, but the neighbors there have added a photo album especially for their cats and dogs.
Everyone who lives in Phoenix 1 lives can add photos and videos of their dog or cat to the album, and anyone who would love to have a pet can admire their neighbor’s pets.
Who needs to search the Internet for cat videos when you can get an endless supply through your neighborhood app?
Use of interactive groups – structuring different committees
One module that makes Socie special is the ability to use interactive groups.
Interactive groups are a module in themselves, so their use is not technically creative.
But the purpose for which these groups are used is certainly creative.
From sharing recipes and cooking tips to dividing your community into different subcommunities, anything is possible with interactive groups.
The student union Navigators Groningen uses groups to structure their various committees.
This allows them to post information relevant only to a section of the community in a specific place.
This way, each member only receives information that is important to them.
No more chaos, no more information getting lost!
Using the reporter function – live reporter for sporting events
The reporter feature is a custom “Share my moment” module, allowing only a specific group of people to post.
This can be useful if you need a place where you can inform your members about important news and updates without getting lost.
Some of our sports communities use this feature as a place to do live coverage during games.
This way, members who couldn’t attend a game can still follow it.
Any goal, point, foul or exciting moment can be immediately shared with the community.
