"After a testing period with the board, we unanimously chose to start using the Socie App for our gospel choir."
Greetje Haanstra is secretary at Interdenominational Gospel Choir Revival and App administrator of the Socie App. The gospel choir has about 40 members and has been using the paid version of the App for some time.
Socie for gospel choir Revival
“After a testing period with the board, we unanimously chose to use the Socie App for our gospel choir,” says Greetje. And I am extremely happy with it. The communication, filing etc all came down to me. It is easier now to communicate with the choir from multiple committees, so we do it more “together. That’s now possible thanks to the App.
App introduction and rollout
We first introduced the free app within the choir, immediately stopping other communications such as newsletters. Existing Whatsapp Groups we will maintain for a while.
The rollout of the App went very well. People had to get used to having to register once but that soon passed. Consequently, the reactions were mostly positive. Soon there was a need to be able to share sheet music and practice recordings through the app as well. However, that could not be done in the free app. The board then decided fairly quickly to move to the paid app.

Starting with the basics
We now manage the App with two App administrators. That’s fine. To manage the App, you have to be somewhat ict-savvy.
For the members it is super such an App, but to set everything up is still quite a lot of work. So we put out several modules and started with the basics. We mainly use the basic stuff: News, members, calendar (for rehearsals, among other things), documents (a.o. sheet music).
In the Socie trainings, we then sometimes learn new things that we can try out in the App.
A relevant app for easy internal communication.
To keep the app relevant, we try to dose the information. We try not to share things too often but regularly. On average, so once every 1 or 2 weeks. That makes it fun to open the app regularly.
So we definitely recommend the app, it makes internal communication a lot easier.
